Attorney Casper Leinen (Elyas M’Barek) obtains the mandatory defense of a spectacular case: the 70-year-old Italian, Fabrizio Collini (Franco Nero) - who has been working in Germany for more than 30 years – has apparently killed the prestigious industrialist, Hans Meyer (Manfred Zapatka), in his hotel suite, in Berlin.

There’s fare more at stake for Caspar than his first big case as a defense attorney. The victim is the grandfather of his first love, Johanna (Alexandra Maria Lara), who was like a father for him. As Caspar gets more and more involved in the case, against all odds, he’s not only faced with his past, but is also with one of the greatest judicial scandals of German history: a truth that no one wants to know about.
