Every year, Laura's mother, Gloria, used to meet Emanuele della Torre in the same place and at the same time.

Through a terrible discovery, Laura gets caught up in a round of betrayals and deceits, which almost prevent her from getting sentimentally involved.  

In fact, she falls in love with Alessandro della Torre – a business lawyer entangled in her family's secrets and in the intrigues that Laura had previously investigated as a fashion journalist in Prato, involving the exploitation of around 300.000 Chinese people in the production of “Made in Italy” fashion, as well as European premium labels.

Her mother's secret, which involves Alessandro's father – Emanuele – is a time bomb in this amusing and moving family story dealing with unethical matters, small and big lies, and problems connected to love stories of young and old.
