HELMUT (Karl Fischer), PETER (Rainer Bock) and EDGAR (Bernhard Schütz) are old friends, but they haven't heard from each other ever since they went on holiday in the Italian town of Rimini, in 1971. Fifty years later they all meet again: the death of Helmut's wife and a letter she leaves behind take the men back to the Italian town, following the letter's footsteps.
